Think Wy has given us the Wyoming Crossroads Grant, which is a generous $20,000 award. Wyoming Crossroads is a state-wide public humanities initiative to bring humanities perspectives to help Wyoming realize growth out of change.
Wyoming Humanities will be the lead in a multi-faceted statewide campaign to dig deep into the themes of Wyoming’s identity, sense of community, connection to the land, persistence, and ability to manage change. We are honored to receive this grant and to represent this state the three of us hold close to our hearts!
Wyoming PBS Foundation was our fiscal sponsor for many years. We are grateful for the time we got to work with them and honored that they chose to partner with us, as Wyoming holds a special place in all of our hearts. Their vision is to connect Wyoming with the world and vice versa, a mission that we are proud we were able to represent and promote.
Broken Horn Saddlery is a Western super store, with everything from riding apparel to custom saddles. They are located in Baldwin Park, California and generously donated tack to our project. A tack shop that our own Caroline Heer frequented as a child, we are grateful for their sponsorship!
NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) is a non-profit outdoor education school based out of Lander, Wyoming. They offer a wide array of incredible courses ranging from Wilderness Medicine certifications to sea kayaking courses in New Zealand. One of NOLS’s campuses, Three Peaks Ranch, specializes in horsepacking education. We are incredibly grateful to both programs for allowing us to rent gear for our trip, including pack saddles, tents, and camping stoves among many other items. Additionally, the Women in the Wilderness team includes two NOLS alumni: Katherine and Louisa.
